What do you call the maiden voyage of the water taxi service from Old Town Alexandria to Nationals Park? Opening Wake?
I was hoping to be on board but it didn’t work out. WTOP has some coverage, as well as some photos by Nats320.
The Potomac Riverboat Company will use the ticket numbers to gauge for next year. I hope they account for the following factors.
Nationals low attendance.
Weather: Rained off and on yesterday, as well as today, forecast same for tomorrow.
Their limited schedule: Not offering it for the Dodgers series. The limited schedule also did not include day games.
Trolley Bus: If you take Metro and then the free trolley bus to the marina, you have to have an alternate plan when you get back. The trolley bus stops service at 10 pm.
Lack of Publicity- Some
blogs covered it, but I didn’t see any beforehand publicity in the Washington
Post, or local TV news, or Nationals' web site.
Never knew about the boat until Nats320 posted pics and wrote about it yesterday! Thanks for putting the info out there! I'll be sure to tell my friends!
Great post!

I see the Potomac Riverboat Company has a new page dedicated to the baseball boat (http://www.potomacriverboatco.com/baseball-boat.php). I think I'll use it for Monday's game!
