Congrats to RUSH for the Hollywood
Star they will receive today. Neil especially has
always been leery of fame, but these guys deserve it, something like 20
tours of the U.S., and they have been getting a lot of pub lately.
This comes on the heels of the success of
the documentary RUSH: Beyond the Lighted Stage. Worse promo photo ever, but an excellent look at their
careers so far.
I know this will come off as corny, but you
have to hand it to RUSH. I
mean, look around at the people who are getting all the attention. The media has always loved
the bad boys, scandal, and gossip, but it seems that is now true more than
ever. If the Washington Post
had to drop more sections, I guarantee you it would not be the Style section.
I will be the first to admit that I read it
too, although in small doses.
But it’s also great when three guys like RUSH, who have avoided the trappings of the rock and roll hotel lifestyle, who have made covers of magazines solely for their music, and who are as Geddy has quipped, "boring" off stage, get their due in this big time way.
So this one is for the nerds. Raise your books today. We rock!!
This is great!
Rush (Neil Peart in particular)has been a huge influence in my lfe, my music my drumming and my drum students.
WAY TO GO, RUSH!!!
Thanks, guys.
