The better half and I are here in NYC for a reunion of the 14th Air Service Group and the 987th Signal Company. These are men, now in their 8os and 90s, who served in the support units for the Flying Tigers. Their mission began in 1944 to establish air power and assist the Chinese against the Japanese in Indochina.
We toured the USS Intrepid and Museum yesterday, and went to Chinatown where they were honored by the American Legion. Talking with these Chinese-Americans reveals fascinating stories.
Gotta sign off. More touring today, and they will appear before an audience tonight at the Musuem of Chinese America to tell their stories and answer questions.
