Day game, National League on grass, sun came out, Strasburg pitching, Harper coming off his first homer, Nats in first, out-of-town guests, good seats, chowed down on a Ben’s Half-Smoke, who can complain about that?
Me.
Well, not really, but we did jinx the Nationals and Strasburg yesterday. Walking in to the ballpark, I said to myself, he’s due a bad outing.
Indeed. The Nats' ace proved to be a mere mortal, lasting only four innings, yielding four earned runs.
Outfielders Bernadina and Ankiel’s first inning, “I got it, you take it,” invited the misery, and Teddy, Abe and Tom's disasterous collision accented it.
Oh, well, Harper jacked his second home run and our friends enjoyed themselves. That’ll be the memorable part…
