Food Dog came running home the other day, his tail wagging a mile a minute. Catching his breath, he told me he had been to Old Town.
“Parsian,” he said. “New restaurant on King near Washington Street. Delicious shish kabob, Persian-Iranian themed digs in the old SandVeg place at 703 beside Le Pain Quotidian. Owner kind of quirky, but quick service, some potential.”
My canine friend went on to say he also saw a sign for “YogiBerry, Coming Soon,” a few doors down and close to his favorite shop, “The Dog Park” at 705.
He also reminded me Nando’s will be arriving across the street.
If we count correctly, that’s almost a dozen places to eat on this busy stretch.
A new center of Alexandria’s food universe? Is King and Washington the real heart of Old Town?
Stay tuned for another report from Food Dog.
Chow.
