We took in “Argo” yesterday, Ben Affleck’s flick
on the rescue of six Americans from Tehran in 1980. If you’re
like us, you’re asking yourself, why don’t I remember this?
Of course, that ignorance pays dividends if you watch the movie. Great script, insider pride for Washington’s three-digit agencies, and despite the fact we knew they were rescued, gut-wrenching tension at the end.
Argo was our first film at Angelika. This theater dazzles with lots of glass, all the modern stuff like plush seats, push-button soda dispensers, jazzy carpet, and plenty of legroom.
Anyway, “Hooray for Hollywood,” and thank you Canada!
