The City dedicated the new field on Saturday. It’s located by the Nannie J. Lee Rec Center at 1108 Jefferson Street.
Missed the ceremony but visited today. A sterling job by all, and it does this old baseball heart good to see a diamond go up.
But it’s no ordinary ball field. According to the press release, the field “is a rubberized surface baseball diamond that allows people with special needs the opportunity to play outdoor sports in a safe and fun environment. The rubberized surface allows wheelchairs and walkers to be used safely.”
