Yesterday morning I had the distinct pleasure of
meeting Nina Tisara, President of the “Living Legends of Alexandria” (Left in
photo). Along with a
friend, she was providing gift wrapping service for early holiday shoppers at
the Barnes and Noble in Potomac Yard.
Tisara was also raising awareness for the program she created and nurtures. Living Legends of Alexandria identifies, honors and chronicles, “individuals who have made significant contributions to the quality of life in Alexandria.”
Members of the public can submit nominees. There are two criteria.
The first is, "individuals who have contributed at least one tangible improvement to the quality of the city’s life that would be missing without that person’s vision and energy."
The second is, "Individuals demonstrating exemplary service to the city for ten years or more."
For more information see their website. And what a wonderful program it is!
