C-SPAN Bus Visits Old Town

This morning, a Washington-based institution visited an Alexandria-based institution in order to educate and inform the public about an American institution.

We’re talking the C-SPAN bus, which made a stop at the Farmer’s Market in Old Town.    On display was the technology and tools they use to cover Inauguration Day.   They also were touting their upcoming series on First Ladies, and educational outreach programs.

C-SPAN will air a show on the history of Inaugurations Saturday, January 19^th, at 11 am, and at 8 p.m.

Join historians Brian Balogh, Ed Ayers, and Peter Onuf –hosts of the weekly radio program BackStory with the American History Guys—for a LIVE event at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. They explore the traditions of presidential inaugurations, as well as the social and political forces at work around them.
