With a little over two weeks to go, our second update on the Inauguration.
One stop shopping is available at Inauguration.dc.gov.
Metro tweeting at MetroInaug.
For cyclists we recommend WashCycle, the best blog for “Spoke Nation” in Washington.
Also this info:
On Inauguration Day, January 21, DDOT and goDCgo will establish a bike parking area at 16th and I Streets, NW.
In addition, Capital Bikeshare will establish two corrals on Inauguration Day to serve members attending the Inauguration and Inaugural Parade. The corrals – which are only for Capital Bikeshare bikes - will be located at:
17th and K Streets, NW (Farragut Square)
12th Street and Independence Avenue, SW (USDA)
Latest on Metro's plans. Locals should note that the Yellow Line only runs to Gallery Place that day.
As this is the administration’s second dance, the attendance won’t match the first. But we noticed the Newseum’s Inaugration Day tickets are sold out.
Weather: If it snows, it will be ironic. As CWG reported yesterday, DC snow lovers are suffering through a 708 day drought (2 or more inches). That is “the longest span on record dating back to the late 1800s.”
Lastly, our R&D Department came up this nifty
factoid.
Did you know there are 11 Metro Stations a mile or less from the footprint of the Mall? And six are within a half-mile?
