Long Bridge Park, a fairly new park just north of Crystal City, still has some finishing touches left. Enough, however, is completed to make some judgments.
We would have liked to have seen a softball field, and when the planes at National are taking off to the north it’s noisy, but that aside, this a wonderful public place. There’s something fanciful about its long shape and angular spaces. The handful of historical markers are top-notch and the environment is well taken care of. Joggers seemed pleased too.
Here’s some photos.
The south entrance, shaped like a panhandle.
Residential relaxing area.
Cool map showing the history of the land fill.
Aquatics Center should be fabulous.
Arlington's interpretive markers are different from Alexandria's, a contrast I enjoy.
Cue the Rocky music…
