Well, ladies and gentlemen, it is now official. Every single team I pulled for this year is out of the running. My October baseball misery index is about as high as it can go.
The damage claim.
Giants. Smacked in the butt by Bill James plexiglass.
Nationals. Good finish, but remember, last year they had the best record in baseball, and hopes were high for this season.
Blue Jays. They sure looked good on paper.
Pirates. Something to build on, but I wanted more.
A’s. The little engine that could, but they always run out of gas, something like 1 and 11 in potential clinch games since 1990.
Rays. Well, I sort of like Boston so this one wasn’t as bad.
Who to pull for now?
The Dodgers? Hey, I needed to humor myself.
The Cards? Normally a fall back team I don’t mind seeing win, but they knocked the Nats out last year and the Pirates this year.
The Tigers? No negativity but they did beat the A’s.
Guess I’ll pull for the Red Sox. Uh-oh, Beantown, you’re in serious trouble.
