Well folks, it looks like we will be setting a course for a second edition of “River to Rails.”
My scouting report indicates there are a significant number of markers that can be added to the 225 found in the first edition. This will be done by looking inside public buildings, adding any new markers, and expanding the coverage for a mile or two beyond the two historic districts.
Like I did with my first edition, I will post some of the markers here at my blog. The new ones at the new Potomac Yard Park look fabulous, although only one is publically accessible at this time.
So let’s start there, a marker at the corner of Potomac Avenue and Main Line Boulevard that will please railroad buffs. It’s nice to see a marker that pays tribute to everyday people, and we appreciate the city being so proactive with these seven beautiful markers!
