I was most fortunate today, spotting not one, but two new historical markers.
The first one is on Church Street side of the new park at Freedmen's Cemetery. The material is state of the art, the new generation of interpretive markers. It also contains a contemporary photo, something you rarely see, and if memory serves me, the first in Old Town.
The second one is the first ever on the War of 1812 in Alexandria. The location is along the Strand and in the corner of Waterfront Park.
Stumbling upon markers is a real source of joy, and today produced that feeling twice. Enjoy!
