Highlights were some good vittles for breakfast at Snooze, dinner at Moonshine, LBJ Library, the Congress Street Bats, State Capitol, Bullock Texas State Museum, Lady Bird Lake Trailing, the French Legato, George Washington Carver Museum, Zilker Metropolitan Park, and attractive historical markers.
Most memorable line came in response to something said about a place in Austin.
“Everything is big in Texas…”
From the critic’s chair, we wish the Historic Districts would have come up on the Attractions list, and we were surprised there is not a downtown Austin Historic District.
Also, the historical marker in front of the Moonshine Grill restaurant is misplaced. We learned that the marker is for the smaller building beside it. You gotta move it because the restaurant looks old itself.
Notwithstanding those two items, Austin, despite the heat, is a real treat!
