King observed yesterday morning the turnout looked primed to exceed projections
of 500K to 700K.
A D.C. Homeland Security official says turnout on the Mall was "definitely above 800,000" and possibly up to one million people.
Officials are pointing to the weather, a mix of sun and clouds, light winds and temps in mid 40s.
Crowd estimates for 2009 were as high as 1.8M, which is put into perspective by the great turnout yesterday.
