Ellen Donald and Julie Downie of Special Collections have put together a nifty display that touches on the Alexandria Library Company (founded 1794), the forerunner to the Alexandria Public Library (1938).
Elaine Hawes has researched this area of Alexandria history. Booksellers on King Street included Robert Gray and George French.
The exhibit is at the Barrett Branch on Queen Street.
