At its website, Visitors Center, and social media, the city of Alexandria provides information for visitors. Private companies can give you ghost and history tours. Books such as "Walking Tours of Old Washington and Alexandria," and "Walk and Bike the Alexandria Heritage Trail" are terrific. And just strolling pretty much anywhere in Old Town will be a visual feast.
This sets forth a challenge to contribute something useful for the visitor.
As you can see, the 300 block of Queen Street is heavenly, but the biggest bang for the buck is south of King and east of Washington. Prince is princely and don't miss S. Lee and S. Fairfax.
We also mark our recommended walk that starts at the foot of King, passes along the waterfront, goes through the Wilkes Street tunnel, has a stop at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House and Burial Grounds, and ends with a bang along Captain’s Row.
Old Town is something special, and we hope you enjoy seeing its amazing places.
